Sexually Abused 12 Years Old Girl in Delhi, Fights For Survival After She Was Stabbed Repeatedly – Insiderfolks, Seven years after the gruesome gangrape of five-year-old ‘Gudiya’ who was left to die in a locked room by two adults, Delhi again sees crime as barbaric as a 12-year-old girl is battling for her life at AIIMS according to IANS news agency.
She was reportedly struck with a sharp object after having been sexually assaulted in Pashim Vihar on August 4. Several arrests have already been made.
“The condition of the girl is very severe, with bite marks all over her body aside from significant stomach injuries and numerous fractures,” said DCW Commissioner Swati Maliwal after visiting the victim’s family at AIIMS on Thursday.
The minor had previously been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where a team of doctors had recommended her to AIIMS after examining her injuries. Police filed a lawsuit against an alleged intruder under the Act on the Safety of Children from Sexual Abuse (POCSO) and Section 307 (Attempt to Murder) of the IPC.
As the 12-year-old continues to overcome injuries and physical and sexual abuse, the Delhi Police have set up a variety of teams to find and apprehend the perpetrator. The CCTV of the area in Pashim Vihar, where the assault took place, is being examined.
When she was alone at home, the girl was assaulted. Her parents are wagers on a regular basis.
Maliwal has also summoned DCP Outer Delhi and wants the Commission to be aware of developments in this situation.
Delhi’s Chief Minister also visited AIIMS and requested the Delhi Police Commissioner to ensure that the guilty suspects were identified as soon as possible.
“I visited AIIMS to find out about the girl’s wellbeing,” he said on his official Twitter page.
The heinous act brought back the tragic memories of April 15, 2013, when two men had thrown objects into the private parts of a 5-year-old man and left her in a room, believing that she was dead.
The infant was saved 40 hours later. In January of this year, the Delhi court sentenced the two men to 20 years in prison and also granted Rs 11 Lakh as compensation to the survivor, who was named ‘Gudiya’ after the incident.
Sentencing the two convicts, Manoj and Pradeep, the court said, “On many occasions, in our culture, minor girls are worshiped as goddesses, but in this case the infant, who was about five years old at the time of the murder, had undergone extraordinary depravity and severe brutality.”
Given these stringent interventions, offences against women have seen no noticeable reduction. A total of 636 cases of rape have been reported in the capital this year until 30 June. In addition , data from the Delhi Police show that a total of 1,161 women were reportedly abducted in Delhi by 30 June.
