New infectious diseases triggered by a tick-borne virus killed seven people and infected 60 others in China, the official media announced on 5 August alert of the risk of their human-to-human transmission.
In the first half of the year, more than 37 people in East China’s Jiangsu Province contracted the SFTS virus.
Later, 23 people were confirmed to have been contaminated in East China’s Anhui Province, the state-run Global Times published in the newspaper.

Doctors noticed a decline of leukocyte, a blood platelet within her body. She was released from the hospital following a month of diagnosis.
At least seven people died from the virus in Anhui and East China’s Zhejiang province, the study stated.
SFTS is not a modern virus. China identified the virus pathogen in 2011 and belongs to the Bunyavirus family.
Virologists suspect that the infection may have been spread to humans by ticks and that the virus could be spread within humans, he added.
Sheng Jifang, a doctor at Zhejiang University’s first associated hospital, said that the risk of human-to – human transfer could not be excluded; patients might move the virus by blood or mucosa to others.
Doctors warned that tick bite is the key route of transmission, as long as citizens are vigilant, there is no reason to fret about the contagion of the virus.
